Celebrating a Century: Hastings Rowing Club at the 100th Viking Shield Regatta

On Saturday, 26th April 2025, Hastings Rowing Club proudly participated in the 100th Viking Shield Regatta at Herne Bay, marking a significant milestone in coastal rowing history.
Event Highlights:
Men’s Junior Pair: Johnand Roland showcased exceptional skill, securing 1st place with a remarkable turn.
Men’s Junior Pair: John and Roland Men’s Novice Four: Facing mid-race challenges, the crew demonstrated resilience, finishing 4th out of 7.
Tom, John, Jack, and Roland, coxed by Paul Men’s Novice Scull: Roland delivered a commendable performance, achieving 2nd place.
Novice Scull Roland Men’s Junior Four: Adapting to a new boat, the team earned a respectable 3rd place.
Tom, John, Jack, and Roland, coxed by Paul Women’s Novice Four: In their inaugural race, the crew finished 8th among 11 entries, setting a strong foundation for future competitions.
