Hastings Rowing Regatta 2025: A Spectacular Day on the South Coast!

On Sunday 13th July, Hastings Rowing Club proudly hosted one of the most memorable regattas of the CARA racing calendar. From the first light of day until well into the evening, our club came together with energy, determination, and pride to deliver a truly unforgettable event.

The beach buzzed with excitement as local supporters, visitors, and competing clubs gathered to witness and take part in thrilling coastal rowing action. Our community’s support was felt in every cheer, in every customer stopping by for breakfast, lunch, or dinner at our bustling food stall, and in every kind word shared on the beach. We are beyond grateful for the love and backing from Hastings locals and our generous local business sponsors.

Pulling off an event of this scale wouldn’t be possible without the tireless work of our Regatta Secretary Colin Chatfield and our Captain Vicky Kidd. Huge thanks to Simon Veness, who kept the energy high with his stellar sound system, and to all the umpires both on the water and in the start tent, giving their time for the love of the sport. Special shoutout to our club members who were there from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m., making sure everything ran smoothly.

Paul Knight, our president for making sure the turns and start in the right place and for giving everyone their well deserved prizes!

And of course, a massive thank you to The Custom Cafe, Roland Rebek and his wife Eszter Garajszki for managing the food stall and ensuring no one left hungry!

But the day wasn’t just about hosting – Hastings athletes were out on the water racing hard and proudly representing our colours. Here are the results from our crews:
