The ladies senior pair of Vicky and Paula won the CARA championship title and wrote club history. It is for the first time in 143 years that a ladies senior pair wins this title for the club.
The duo clinched the season long competition after defeating neighbours Bexhill in a row-off in Eastbourne on Saturday 14 August 2010.
In perfect rowing conditions under stormy looking skies, they lost the toss for the stations and found themselves on the outside course. Despite Bexhill's excellent start, the pair took the lead from the tenth stroke and never looked back. Once out of the turn, they won comfortably by six lengths.
