Deal Regatta – Saturday 12 July 2025After setting off under bright skies, no one quite expected the dramatic turn the weather would take during this year’s Deal Regatta. Hastings Rowing Club arrived to what looked like ideal conditions—but as the day unfolded, blue skies gave way to a sudden and intense storm. And, of course, the downpour peaked right as our Women’s Novice 4 was lining up on the start!
Despite the soaking, the squad delivered an outstanding set of results and brought home plenty to be proud of.
🚣♂️ Results Round-Up:
🥇 Open Junior Pair – Roland Rebek & John Webb: a long-awaited, hard-earned first place finish!

Roland Rebek & John Webb 🥈 Masters 40+ & 50+ Fours – Tim Ash, Dave Pattle, John Webb & Mark King, cox Hannah Dixon: secured a solid second.

Masters 40+ & 50+Tim Ash, Dave Pattle, John Webb & Mark King, cox Hannah Dixon Women’s Junior Pairs – Cammy Korkis & Kim Webb 💪 Women’s Junior Scull – Cammy Korkis: strong effort in challenging conditions.

We’re deeply grateful to Deal Rowing Club for hosting the regatta and to all the coastal rowing clubs who made it a great day of competitive spirit and camaraderie. Special thanks to the 24th Hastings Scouts for lending us their minibus, which made travel smooth and easy.
A huge well done to Captain Vicky Kidd for her tireless organisation and to Roland Rebek for towing the trailer and supporting the team all day.
